Mugni-dhaal with Patha
I didn’t expect my DM’s to be flooding people asking for this recipe! A lot of you even said you haven’t heard or tried this combo before … you guys have to try it! It’s so so good, comfort food at best ????

Bismillah.
1. Boil 1 cup mugni dhaal until just soft, be careful not to overboil then your dhaal will be mushy. Alternatively you can soak your dhaal overnight instead of boiling.
2. Heat ghee, add in 1 sliced onion with a sprinkle of jeero ( cumin ) seeds.
3. Once onion is brown, add in 1 tsp crushed garlic and a few curry leaves.
4. Then add in 1 and 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tsp dhana ( coriander ) powder, 1/2 tsp tumeric and 1/2 tsp chillie powder.
5. Add in 1 grated tomato and 1/2 a green pepper chopped into small cubes. Cook until you see the oil on top of the tomato chutney.
6. Drain the water from your dhaal, add to chutney with 1 cup boiling water and cook on high until steaming then leave to simmer until done.
7. Fry Patha - layer on top and serve with roti. ENJOY????
