Halaal food in Johannesburg hotels is hard to come by which is why it was such a pleasure to be able to eat at The Medley restaurant at the Hyatt House Sandton, where we spent the night, alhamdulillah. We feasted on a homestyle Wagyu beef burger , aged ribeye steak, a macon, pepper and avocado woodfired pizza, and a Fulton sandwich which consisted of slow braised short rib on sourdough bread. These went well with thick chocolate milkshakes. We also enjoyed some delicious desserts which I will post about separately. In the morning, we enjoyed a yummy buffet breakfast with sausages and macon. The restaurant is halaal-certified and is open to day visitors too. The head chef, who was previously at the Park Hyatt Dubai Creek specialises in Indo-Pakistani cuisine and will be adding some of these dishes to the menu from next month. I'm looking forward to seeing what he comes up with.
