Olivero Café opened in Greenside earlier this year. A restaurant, coffee shop and shisha lounge, they specialise in Mediterranean cuisine and have some refreshingly different items on their menu.
We went there for a late lunch/early dinner yesterday, and tried a variety of items there although there are many more items on the menu that we still want to try.
We started with delicious hummus, labneh and olives, served with pita bread, then proceeded to the mains. My husband loved the creamy pesto and spicy chicken quesadillas, my daughter enjoyed the schnitzel sandwich, I savoured the chicken Milanese, while my son enjoyed the burger.
The food was amazing and so were the drinks. My favourites were the Turkish Delight mocktail, and the Kiwi crusher, but the orange and pineapple juices were yummy too.
We also had some hot drinks which went down really well in this cold weather – White Choc Mocha, Chai Latte and Salted Caramel Latte. ????
The only negative was that we were so stuffed that we didn’t get to try the desserts but I guess that’s something to look forward to for the next visit.
The owner, Majeed, was a great host. He hails from a farming family in Tunisia that cultivates olives, figs, almonds and pistachios, and he has many interesting stories to tell.
We will definitely be going back again and judging by the glowing reviews I’ve been seeing, so will everyone else who’s been there.
Olivero Café also offers delicious breakfasts but more about that in another post. Find them in the vibey Gleneagles street in Greenside. Have you been there yet?
